Artificer Archetype – Mechanimancer

Among the scholars of Mount Olympus, it is a common occurrence to build a small, helpful construct to act as a simple assistant during research. Some artificers, have taken this practice further and have designed powerful, multipurpose construct beasts that are used in combat and exploration.

Ranger Archetype – Rat-Catcher

The Rat-Catchers are a sinister collection of rangers, commonly found in Void. The benevolent among them focus their efforts on the solving of rodent-related problems but many fall prey to greed and begin using the very vermin they are trained to kill as effective tools of murder, spreading the sicknesses they once helped prevent. Whether they act to help or hurt, Rat-Catchers are mistrusted travellers and experts in the slaughter of smaller creatures.

5e Conditions Expansion!

In this post I'll be presenting some new conditions that are interesting to use but not so brutal they ruin a players fun, as well as reworking the poisoned condition to match the thematic nature of it.

Rogue Archetype – The Vulture

Vultures are masters of taking the discarded remains of others and finding a way to make them into useful boons that help them overwhelm their foes with unpredictable changes to their fighting style.

Playable Race – Half-Dwarf

Half-Dwarf are the children of a Dwarf and Human pairing. They are the rarest race to find within the Hammerlands due to the rarity in which the two peoples mix but in the event a child is born, they are blessed with a merging of the gifts of both their parents.

Ranger Archetype – Disaster Walker

Disaster Walker rangers are experts in traversing the most dangerous of landscapes and dealing with natural disasters on a near daily basis. They are trained to make accurate predictions of the unpredictable and always be ready to turn a problem into an opportunity.

Playable Race – Dwarf (Dark Elf)

Despite the usual connotations, Dwarves are the largest race in the Hammerlands. The spend their days beneath the mountains crafting art and magic items, striving to find the perfect expression of their skill.

Playable Race – Valkor

Valkor are the rare offspring of a Valkyrie and a Norn. It is uncommon for a Valkyrie to mingle with Humans and even rarer for them to lay together but if they do, there is a small chance of the Valkyrie falling pregnant. Due to its inability to traverse their floating city homeland, the mothers almost always leave the child in the care of the father.

Artificer Archetype – Lockout

It was the Dwarves of Nidavellir that first mastered the art of imbuing mundane objects with magic, and in doing so birthed the first magic items. Not long after, the Artificer became a popular profession within Dwarven culture. Many focused on their talent for creating constructs or magical weapons yet as time went on, and their skills progressed, a new variation of the Artificer emerged, the Lockout.

Playable Race – Valkyrie

The Valkyrie are winged warrior women. Gifted with flight and the divine blessing of Thor, the Valkyrie watch over the realm from high above its surface, preferring to keep to themselves whenever they can.

Fighter Archetype – Thunderer

Throughout the realm of the Hammerlands, individuals are born with volatile, thunderous magic trapped within their bodies. Many of these people die young, overtaken by the errant energy in a moment of danger. Yet some learn to gain a semblance of control. These, are the Thunderers.

Magic Item – Dragonfall

Very few individuals across the Realms can claim to wield a weapon so notorious as Dragonfall. Forged by the Dwarves of Nidavellir and pasted through generations of Norn, the battleaxe Dragonfall is the Hammerlands answer to the destructive, invasive dragons that have torn their home asunder.
