The Game of Gods

Before creating the universe, the gods entertained themselves by playing simple games. Chess was a particular favourite, although as eons past, their games became stale. To ensure the continued enjoyment of their games, the Gods would adapt and update the rules up to the point they are at today.

They poured their creative power and imagination into the board, transforming it into a living world of 64 realms. 32 white aligned realms and 32 black aligned realms.

For hundreds of years the realms remained divided by the boundaries of their square but now the Gods have begun a new game and the walls are starting to fall apart.

The rules of the game have changed, far removed from the original game of chess. Now, this is a war game. Black vs White. Darkness vs Light. The Gods each have dominion over a square and craft it to their will, gifting blessing and curses as needed to ensure their team takes control of the board.
