Playable Race – Sodden

Sodden make up the majority of the Stilts population. While the Paddlers have chosen a nomadic lifestyle, the Sodden have used their collaborative nature to establish stationary cities that can thrive in the harsh, ever-changing Floodplains.

Furred and Waterlogged

Sodden are tall, ape-like humanoids with a thick layer of dense fur. They have a bright red hue to their skin which is only exposed on their faces and hands. They are a tall, lanky race that grows to around 6 feet in height while not putting on much muscle.

Their furred bodies hold water incredibly well, allowing them to both resist the effects of intense heat and also add weight to their strikes.

An extremely popular leisure activity among the Sodden is relaxing in communal heated pools. They would happily spend hours in the waters. Even the monks of the Stilts monastery of the submerged soul rely on the waters to help them enter deep, meditative trances, further linking their souls with the water.

Thriving Through Cooperation

More than most, the Sodden excel in collaboration. They have traversed the threats and challenges of the Floodplains by working together to compensate for individual weaknesses. Thanks to communal hubs such as the Stilts and similar settlements, they have built a community of trust and reward for one’s service to the collective.

While solitary Sodden do exist, they are rare and often look for companionship from the more docile creatures of the floodplains to aid them in combat or hunting.
